The IAQG-sanctioned 9100:2016 Series Update Training (9100/9110/9120) will be retired as of September 14, 2021. These delta trainings allow already-authenticated auditors to transition to the newest revision of the standard without having to re-take the respective full AATT training.
Who is impacted?
Auditors authenticated to 9100:2009, 9110:2012, and 9120:2009 prior to September 15th, 2018 and who continue to hold valid authentication. While these auditors can no longer conduct third-party audits, they can conduct qualifying second-party audits to the new standard, and these audits can be used for re-authentication.
Why this timing?
It was possible to receive authentication to the 9100:2009, 9110:2012, and 9120:2009 standards up to September 14, 2018. Auditors in this situation would continue to hold valid authentication with the potential to conduct qualifying audits, so this transition mechanism needs to remain available through the expiration of their authentication.
What action is needed?
Impacted auditors who wish to re-authenticate to the 2016-series standards using this IAQG-sanctioned transition process must purchase and successfully complete the relevant 9100:2016 Series Update Training programs (including any required retakes) prior to the retirement date.
What happens if needed action is not taken?
Impacted auditors who fail to successfully complete the transition process prior to the retirement date but wish to conduct audits to the 2016-series standards (or potential future revisions) will have to follow the same qualification process as new auditor candidates (see 9104/3).
